How to bost the Medias and Buffers charging process?

Charging Medias and Buffers are nowadays steps where biotherapeutics manufacturing plants are struggling with cadence, efficiency, people and process exposure.

The JetMixer? is the unique in-line hydration technology that allow to charge powders using a gentle process for mixing the product without generating shearing forces or adding temperature that could damage or changing the chemical structure of the powders.

The mixing of powders and liquids happen on a very controlled process, result of many years of research for designing the right technology. It happens in three phases:

  • Acceleration chamber, where the recirculation liquid (for example 65°C water) increase dramatically the speed creating a perfect jet stream without splashes;
  • Mixing chamber, based on the Venturi principle, the JetMixer? creates a quasi total vacuum, facilitating the suction of the powders almost particle by particle, avoiding to create agglomerates or stress on the product or even that the vapours go up into the product and block the feeding nozzle;
  • Expansion chamber where a very high turbulence regime occurs promoting the complete and perfect mixing.

This process is very fast compared to any other charging methods, for example, the gravity charge, where the fine powders will be sitting on top of the vessel long time until get dissolved, a portion of the product is lost on the dry walls of the prep vessels and a big risk of fish eyes generation exists.

Additionally, looking from an engineering, maintenance and quality perspective, despite its controlled geometry design, the JetMixer? looks like a piece of pipe in terms of cleaning (no dead legs) and maintenance (no moving parts).
