How to boost your team's productivity with Microsoft Copilot 365

In this edition of The Tech Jungle, we're discussing the top highlights from our webinar, including insights to help with Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption and advice on how to communicate the value Copilot can provide to your organisation.

Generative AI: A pivotal point in Tech History

James Wilson, Head of Change and AI Strategy?at?Illuminate?Learning, started off the webinar by underlining the current appetite for AI.

Technology is at an?inflection?point. With industries changing at a rapid pace, compounded by economic challenges, the technology decisions we make now could pivot the nature of our work for better or worse, depending on how we utilise it.?

With?Generative AI changes?impacting the way we use everyday tools and technologies to search for information, seeking a way to leverage AI within your organisation to improve your team's performance could yield powerful results.?

Studies show the impact adopting?Microsoft Copilot has had on users to date:

• 96% have expressed they would be disappointed if they no longer had access to Copilot.
• 79% have been able to focus on more important work.
• One in three individuals shared time savings of more than 30 minutes?per day.
• 81% shared they can spend less time searching for information.
• While organisations may be clouded by AI's uncertainty, 87% agree?that AI will give them a competitive edge.

Beyond the understanding the value of AI

During the webinar, James shared essential questions organisations should consider while preparing for the era of AI. These questions included:

• What are your organisations goals?
• What pain points can AI help to alleviate?
• What data strategies do you have in place that will influence AI usage?

Whilst the prospect of AI seems exciting, there is a greater need to be cautious whilst utilising and considering AI adoption.?

We discussed some of the nuances that AI presents, including the fact that although AI may sound confident, it doesn't necessarily mean it is correct. As the name implies, Microsoft's AI tool is called Copilot, not?Autopilot. This means it is important to ensure the individuals using this Generative AI tool are carefully considering the information they input into Copilot to get optimum results.

Practical Applications of Copilot

We delved into some of the business processes Copilot can add value to across various business functions: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Legal and HR.

We highlighted the KPIs that can be derived and leveraged to build a business case for utilising AI in your organisation to enhance productivity and improve business outcomes.

A few of Copilot's latest features?including?summarising meetings, creating tables from lists, and drafting documents for proposals were also reviewed.

James?went on to?the top ten AI prompts?that could?be used?as a basis for utilising Copilot effectively across Microsoft's365 tools.

Essentially, to utilise Copilot effectively, individuals need to understand why they are using AI and be able to communicate it. This includes considering short, medium and long-term goals.
