HOW TO BOOST YOUR LINKED SEO
This article will delve into the best ways to utilise LinkedIn in order to boost your SEO, whilst briefly explaining how the algorithm works.
So let's get started...
WHAT IS SEO?
Search Engine Optimisation is the focus of optimising content to appear in search engine rankings.
There are many factors involved in the search algorithm and the search algorithm you use, will depend on your business.
For example, if you are interested in obtaining more video views, then your focus will be YouTube's algorithm. If you want more traffic to your web pages, then you need to cater towards Google's algorithm.
As we are focusing on boosting your LinkedIn, let’s first take a look at the algorithm for LinkedIn, which is simply a set of instructions used to perform a specific task in numerous steps.
Just like other social media platforms, the LinkedIn algorithm is set to prioritise #content that is relevant and what is most likely to be deemed as useful by the user.
Here are the stages you need to know….
THE LINKEDIN ALGORITHM
1. RELEVANT POSTS
The user needs to understand the audience, what does the audience like, what are they interested in, and what keeps them engaging?
2. THE AMOUNT OF VIEWS
The more people interested in your posts leads to more views. A post that encourages people to like and engage, will help you build connections and get to know people, and possibly help you in the future to target their interest.
3. GET THE TIMING RIGHT
We aren’t saying every post needs to be scheduled….if you want to post a about a sparkly unicorn and some beer….you go ahead and post it! Though if you want to target your audience, then you want to be sure that most of the audience is online.
The algorithm will check for the post’s authenticity and engagement, including a rating of how original the post is, to determine whether it should remain in the feed or not.
?So now that we have an idea of the algorithm...
LET'S BOOST YOUR LINKEDIN SEO:
1. KEYWORDS
If you’ve ever looked into SEO, then you may have heard about keywords, they play an important role in search engine optimisation. Integrate keywords on your company page, include a description that tells your audience about you and what you do.
Consider what terms users might be searching for to find businesses like yours.
2. LINK, LINK, LINK
Your website should have social links to your company page on LinkedIn. This will direct people to your LinkedIn page, thus boosting traffic and indicating to the LinkedIn search engine that it’s of value.
3. UPDATE EMPLOYEE PAGES
Have your employees updated their personal LinkedIn pages? If not, they should list their role at your company. By doing this, you’re creating more exposure, plus it directs people back to your page.
4. RELEVANT POSTS
We’ve already discussed the importance of posting content that is relevant. But I’ll say it again…post relevant content to your audience.
So what do you think?
