How a bicycle can change lives, and how you can help

Dear Network, Friends & Followers,

Today, I'd like to tell you a little bit more about a matter of the heart - the charity I'm collecting donations for.

Besides working for Collibra, in the previous months I've been also very busy with training and prepping for #threepeaksbikerace21 which will start on July 10th in Vienna.

I will push the pedals over 2.500km and 40.000m altitude to collect donations for my charity I'm running together with Radeln und Helfen e.V., an organization that collects money for children in need of help.

World Bicycle Relief mobilizes people in rural Africa through The Power of Bicycles. In developing regions of the world, millions of people and especially children walk for miles each day just to survive. On foot, the distance is a barrier to attending school.

With the donations I collect, and if I can reach my goal of €10.000,-, an entirely new school class of children will get 60 brand new bicycles from WBR to have access to education, ride to school, and back home every day.

Every kilometer I cycle counts - every donation from you will help those children in rural Africa getting access to education and eventually having a better life.

/// THANK YOU !!! and UPDATE /// Dear Friends and Followers, It is amazing and I am feeling deeply moved by the support, engagement, positive comments and conversations around "ride4hope" and the fundraising for children in need of help in rural Africa! We (yes, I'm talking of all of us!) have now reached already 23% of my fundraising goal of EUR 10.000,-. This means that already approx. 13 bicycles can be sponsored to children in Africa and will enable them to get to school and back home every day without walking tens of miles by foot. Reaching the fundraising goal, this can be an entire class of students getting this opportunity! THIS MEANS A LOT!!! So I'd like to thank all of you for your help, your contribution, the good vibes, the cheering and motivation!!! Now this get's me even more motivated to really push hard in the "Three Peaks Bike Race" #threepeaksbikerace which will start this Vienna on Saturday at 12:00 CET. In my free time I am busy with fine tuning the last bits on my bicycle, selecting the right clothing and equipment according to the weather forecast (kind of looking into the crystal ball), picking food for the first hundreds of kilometers, and dealing with the rise of nervousness.
