How Bhagavad Gita can change our life
GUNJE GEETA
“The Gita is a handbook of instructions as to how every human being can come to live the subtle philosophical principals of Vedanta in the actual world. This is a great handbook of practical living.”
– Swami Chinmayananda
People around the world are going through a shift of sorts in life. It’s becoming evident in the reflections of men and women today in their life experiences. Everyone, in one way or another, is going through pain and distress. The Bhagavad Gita is a part of the epic Mahabharata. The Gita describes a war between Pandavas and Kauravas on the Kurukshetra. We can say the Gita is the discourse given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna just before the war is about to begin. Seeing as Mahabharata is about a household dispute, a Relationship dispute. The Gita has much to do with relationships. It serves the households rather than the hermits. Thus, Gita eventually becomes a technique for dynamic living.
The vital purpose of Gita is to teach us a way to live beyond the ignorance and bondage of the world. It can act as an unfailing guide in life as it shows the way through thick and thin; midst joy and sorrow; in pleasure and pain, in moments of doubt and despair, and much more. Reading Gita will bring a new light to your life. This book can be a wise companion for people seeking self-exploration, self-examination, and self-actualization.
When we ask if the Gita is relevant in today’s time, the answer is Yes, Because Life hasn’t changed much, we go through the same cycle we did in the past Birth, Disease, Old-age, and Death. Just some gadgets. We are all Arjun and our life Kurukshetra; The Gita will guide you through it. If you want to know why we exist, how to get out of this place, and how to return to where we come from.
Reading Gita sheds light on many of the things we struggle through. The Gita encourages us to live with strength, honesty, kindness, and integrity. Each Adhyay of Gita talks about different things such as Dejection, Analysis, Action, Knowledge, Renunciation, Meditation, Wisdom, Spirit’s Liberation, Royal and Hidden Knowledge, Cosmos form, Excellence, Devotion, Liberation, etc.

It teaches us that one of the biggest we face in life is our own negative thinking, and it teaches us to liberate ourselves from that. Krishna knows that in the world, without boundaries, there will always be another chance and then another.
And we should accept it too. Mahatma Gandhi, in THE MESSAGE OF GITA says, “My life has been full of external tragedies, and if they have left no visible effect on me, I owe it to the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita.” Pg.40
“The Gita does not speak of changing the world. It speaks of appreciating the world that is always changing” -Devdutt Pattanaik on Gita (From My Gita). To making Gita more approachable and to bring it out not just as a religious book but as a friend, a preacher or just a companion, we at Give Vacha Foundation have organized the event of “Gunje GIta”.
We will provide you with melodiously sung and played Shlokas or Adhyay, which you can listen to any time and any way you want. Give Vacha Foundation is working on the principle of ‘GIFT OF TIME’.
