How about being the Chair of a school?

At the International School of Luxembourg’s December 16 Board meeting, my colleagues decided to elect me as their new Chair. Needless to say, I feel honored, and also very aware of the responsibility this entails.

ISL; with almost 1.400 students, 300 staff and a 32 million euros annual budget. 

ISL; with an ambitious mission statement I strongly believe in: "We ensure that everyone in our community becomes inspired, resilient and passionate about achieving what matters, anywhere in the world."

And ISL with a highly committed senior leadership team and staff headed by its director, Nicki Crush. In the past two years, I've seen this commitment and also the dedication of the Board members, old and new. This convinced me to take over this role: by far, I don't feel alone!

In this context, I wish to thank the executive board of the clc, my current employer, for allowing me to do so and agreeing to free up a certain number of my workdays to be able to execute this new duty. My missions as the director of clc and member of the executive board of the UEL are obviously demanding jobs, but we agreed that this should be feasible (especially thanks to an outstanding clc team!). I will, however, need to take a step back in the other not-for-profit boards I've been active with over the past years (ATP asbl and HEC Alumni Luxembourg asbl) and I will do so over the next months. I feel sorry about this, but there are only 24 hours in a day :-)
