These days many people have harbored a wish to become YouTube Influencers, trending podcasters, Instagram celebrities, or a blogger. Some of you have listened to podcasts, watched YouTube videos on how to be one. Few have also paid for online courses that promise to make you a Successful Social Media Influence or the New Age Content Creators.

In current times social media has become a highly competitive space. For an influencer to get paid collaborations, they need to have great content creation skills. Every influencer needs to build a personal brand on digital platforms. Why so? Because social media is your passport to soar the internet world.

Here are some mind-boggling facts, appx. 3.2 million photos are uploaded on Instagram every hour. About 300 hours of videos get uploaded on YouTube every minute, almost 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube every single day. And on average 6000 tweets are tweeted every second.

Also, as per the recent report from the Global Web Index, the average person now has 7.6 active social media accounts. And 98% of people have at least one social network account.

So now, the question is not just what does it take to become a good content creator? The real question is How to become a “new-age” content creator and a brand?

Content creation for the millennial audience means one must be open to share ideas, to entertain, to engage, and to connect through your stories. For doing so, one must create targeted content based on the pain points of their audience.

Keep yourself well informed. Read trends and the latest happenings about your industry every day.

Establish your own voice. Create niche content and identify your approach towards your audience. Alway curate original content and do not follow other influencers' strategy just because it generated results for them. Understand your KPIs and improvise your content strategy as per your analysis. 

Network at every opportunity. As you start creating your content, make sure you start connecting with the right people in your industry and establish connections for future collaborations.

To be successful as a new-age content creator, it is most crucial that you offer solutions, not just commentary. Build a connection with your audience, reply to their comments or DMs. It's only through their support that you can broaden your reach on social media. Their likes, comments, and shares can impact your digital footprint.

As you roll out your efforts and check back for likes, comments and shares, don't be disappointed if the pace of response does not match the pace of your posts. Like all good things, building a personal brand takes time. Allow yourself 3-9 months of creating a good and consistent digital footprint for people to catch on, follow and believe in your purpose.
