How to become a MULTIPLIER

Becoming a Multiplier is a no brainer.? It makes huge commercial sense.?

A Multiplier expands and extracts the potential of those around them.??

They get their team to unlock new levels of engagement and potential that might have been buried below the surface and wasted.

Studies have shown that as a diminisher, the opposite of a Multiplier, can shut down the potential of the team and only leverage 50% of their intelligence.

A Multiplier, on the other hand, can extract 100-120% of their potential.

Isn't that astounding??

You see, potential is not fixed and it? can be expanded - which is amazing for you, everyone on your team and, of course, for the bottom line of your business.

If you are extracting 120% of your employees capability, your ROI will benefit from this.?

Despite this strong commercial driver and incentive it seems that leaders find it really hard to make the shift from a Multiplier as it seems more of an intellectual concept rather than a practical reality.

So why is this?

And how can you make it easier to become a multiplier?

It starts with your mindset and with your concept of yourself.? In fact, our beliefs determine how we see ourselves, which then triggers how we show up, how we think, our actions and interactions.

The first important step to become a Multiplier is to create your new identity.??

We need to see ourselves as creators, as conductors guiding the orchestra, being present and listening; A conductor is not jumping into the violinists chair to play,? he is creating and enabling the genius of each individual to flow.

Similarly, when it comes to business, we need to remember that if we act as conductors, our presence and coordination will bring exceptional results.

When you say start by identifying with being a Multiplier, there'll be a powerful shift.??

If there is still resistance - which there can be - you can explore what beliefs you hold about yourself (and others) that are triggering you to fall back into Diminisher or Accidental Diminisher behaviour.

Reflect for a moment:

  • Maybe you feel that you need to prove yourself and the only way to gain recognition is to have the answers
  • Or maybe you believe that your team is not capable of coming up with the solutions?
  • Or you might believe that people need to report to you to get things done as you are the most efficient person?

There might be other beliefs that you may or may not be aware of that are hovering under the surface.

The important thing is to put a mirror up - dig below the surface and uncover what is holding you back.

Then ask - is this really true?? What if there was another perspective - a multiplier's perspective?

The next transformational stage is to start exploring the meaning and power of the question.

What would happen if you stopped telling and started asking questions to your team, without giving your input first??

A client who had fallen into the pattern of telling, rather than asking, shared his delight and astonishment at the power of personal insight. He also noticed the? engagement generated by asking? a simple and effective question, to the right people.??
