How to become a GE healthcare exclusive distributor in 4 steps?

Is it possible to be a GE healthcare exclusive distributor or any other big brands in your country? If your answer is ‘’YES’’ then awesome, you already know the way and I am looking forward to change our thoughts and get your feedback about my article.

Regardless of your company size here are 4 steps to become an exclusive distributor for big brands:

1-     Determine who are the competitors for your target brand and contact them to be their distributor in your country. If it’s not possible or visible to be their distributor then find any manufacturer who produces a similar product of your target brand.


2-     Work very hard to get some business and market share for this brand. The more market share you get, the more power and influence in negotiation you will have later with your target brand.



3-     Arrange for a meeting with the in charge person of your target brand during medical exhibition like Medica in Dusseldorf or Arab Health in Dubai and discuss the possibility to be their exclusive distributor and the advantage and new market share they would get once you become their distributor. Explaining to them that you are going to cut your relation with your current brand once they grant you exclusivity.


4-     If you get a quick positive answer, congratulations! but usually such decisions take time, so keep growing your market share, which will cause more pressure for them to accept your offer, and  keep meeting the in charge person from time to time updating him about your progress and what advantages you will add once they grant you exclusivity, and keep in mind that ‘Constant dropping wears away a stone’.
