How to Become a Content Marketing Master: My Top 5 Courses to Get you Started

For me this year a huge focus has been on education, I have been focusing on my own professional development in particular learning more about Content Marketing. I have also been spending a lot of time educating clients on the value of Content Marketing and how it plays a huge role in a business’ success to drive their marketing and business objectives.

Being at LinkedIn for six years, I have learned so much professionally and personally. LinkedIn has experienced exponential growth since I joined in 2012, although LinkedIn is a huge company now, the business still prides itself on having a start-up culture and this culture encourages all employees to constantly be in a state of learning. 

Here are my tried and tested top 5 LinkedIn Learning Content Marketing courses that I have found useful in my journey to learn more about Content Marketing:  

  1. Content Marketing: Foundations  | Instructor: Dayna Rothman | Duration: 2hrs

This course teaches you the fundamentals of Content Marketing through to more advanced strategies on measurement, it's definitely a must for those wanting to build on the foundation they've already started within their business. 


2. Marketing Foundations: The Marketing Funnel | Instructor: Brad Batesole | Duration: 1hr 20m

I learned so much from this course, it is a great course for those writing or promoting content. It is an excellent reminder of why your audience requires content that talks to each stage of the buying cycle and how to use this content to move the buyer through the funnel. 

3. Content Marketing ROI | Instructor: Brian Honigman | Duration: 1hr

After the two courses above you should be feeling pretty confident about Content Marketing?!  Next step is to learn how to measure and prove the ROI of the engagement that you're generating. This course helps identify which metrics are important and how to generate meaningful insights. 

4. Google Analytics Essential Training | Instructor: Brad Batesole | Duration: 3hrs

There’s no point in sending people to your website if you can’t measure what they are doing and that’s where Google Analytics can help. This course will assist with implementing Google Analytics but most importantly how to interpret the data and communicate the ROI back to the business.  

5. Learning Conversion Rate Optimisation | Instructor: Chris Goward | Duration: 1hr 30mins

The end goal for nearly every business is to drive revenue through conversions, if you are driving all this traffic to your website you want to be seeing results. But what if you aren’t seeing conversions? What should you do? This course will teach you the basics of optimising your landing pages to ensure prospective buyers are going to be led down the path to the final conversion point.
