How Bangladeshi organization can use AI Chatbot Platform to start digital transformation
As a decision-maker of your organization, It has been a long time since you are wondering about digital transformation. Read lots of articles, attended seminars, traveled countries and you might have been taken some steps to ensure that there are actually digital transformations happening in your organization. But, let's be honest, we are far from entering into actual digital transformation and into industry 4.0. But, is there any shortcut to get it started?
Yes! There are short cuts. As you are one of the decision-makers, it's your job to make a plan, getting approval from the board and get it started. Here I will share some of my ideas that I have gathered talking tens of C level executives in Bangladesh and in the USA.
Start lean and start small:
As you know that lean strategy is very popular among innovators and C level enterprise and high growth startups like Uber, it's your responsibility to get the ball rolling. So, the first steps will identify an area of your organization that is ready to be digitized. For example, your company has a website, social media pages, where the customer is engaging. You might have a digital team, where they interact with customers. You use the AI-powered chatbot "platform" just to start the process of digital transformation in customer service. Again, I said "Platform" not just chatbot.
Start with an open-ended platform:
Since you are impacting only one sector at a time, start with a platform that is open-ended and which has lots of scope of customization, adaptation, and mobilization into your organization. For example, you have an AI chatbot that can communicate with your customer, now you want to integrate it with your sales/marketing/buyer hunter team. But, the problem is they currently use excel sheets to do the job or they might even use paper-pencil. How can you transform them? Well, an open-ended platform will have the mobility to integrate those users to your system and they can use the same AI platform that you have been using for customer care. For example, your sales/marketing team members will use a portal in the same AI chatbot platform, where they will update their work. AI Chatbot will train them as they were serving your customers before.
Take time to make your employee use to it:
It will take time to create a habit for your employees to catch up with your digital transformation. I have heard many companies bought expensive ERP, but they are failing because the employees are not using it. Well, your employees need time and they need tanning to be used to it. Here, your previous AI Chatbot can help too. Just integrate the AI Chatbot to your companies mobile app, or if you don't have a mobile app, create a WhatsApp group and add all of your employees there and your chatbot. The chatbot will make sure your employees are using it. It trains them, it will guide them, it will measure their performance of getting used to your "digital system". I like the story of how Colegate created a habit of brushing your tooth every day and how it expanded its market.
Create Omni-channel engagement:
The omnichannel is a fancy word of making everything into a single platform. For example, you have ERP by the local vendor or by SAP or oracle, you have attendance machine, you use some marketing software or property management software or CRM like Salesforce. Your decision-maker needs to go to every software and use it. It's better to create a single point software which will have data from every software you use. If you don't have that software already in play, it's even easier for you to move on to omnichannel engagement. It's easy for your employees to training and using it.
Creating value out of digital transformation:
Most enterprises calculate the value of any new purchase they make. The digital transformation is not beyond any necessary investment. The whole point of digital transformation is saving money, gathering data and overall maximization of profit. I mean full capitalism. So, whenever you are planning do the monetary value calculation. Here is an example, say you integrated an AI chatbot for the hotel. Having all of your marketing and sales effort, the chatbot increases 10% sales on top of your previous sales. If one hotel room cost BDT 15,000, you get around 9 Crore taka sales per year, just because you have integrated an AI chatbot. So, your AI Chatbot is adding the value of 9 crores per year for your organization. It's the value of your digital transformation. similarly, you can calculate the value of other systems.
Start talking about your digital transformation ideas:
Talking with solution providers, vendors, and third-party integrators are the best way to share your ideas and getting value out of it. If both of us find that we are bonafide to solve the problem, we hear more about it under NDA. Later, if it gets approved by your authorities, we show demos of your idea after an MoU signing. Then we understand more about your transformation idea and we research more about a solution that will bring you a production-ready solution.
