Work is changing more rapidly than ever, as evidenced by the McKinsey forecast that up to 375 million workers may need to switch occupation and learn new skills to 2030. In a world of increased turbulence, our ability to adapt to change will be increasingly important.
This week, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association Australia & New Zealand’s (RCSA) World Employment Conference (WEC) kicks off on the Gold Coast -- the first time the WEC has been held in Australia -- and will explore the theme: “Leadership in a new world of work”.
I am speaking at the WEC and will explore how we can better understand our employees’ mindsets to unlock their potential and provide workstyles that will see us thrive and explain why some people revel in a vision and others resist change, and how to appeal to both.
We’re also running a Microlab for leaders on “Thinking Diversity for the New World of Work,’’ looking at engagement around thinking powers and teams capacity for change.
We’ll provide some conference updates as the event delves into the role of the leaders in the industry to improve lives, communities and economies in helping connect people with meaningful work into the future.
In times of more change than ever, I’m sure it will be insightful and look forward to sharing some of the insights.
