How bad was BBC's Apprentice last night?

Owner Breckland Orchard...award winning soft drinks (aka Posh Pop)
THE APPRENTICE last night had the task of launching and pitching a non-alcoholic soft drink brand. I sat on the sofa watching it through my fingers...with my toes curling in disbelief...I mean they made such a hash of it! It was almost a masterclass in what not to do.
I was in the same position in late 2008, and launched Breckland Orchard in March 2009. There were four products in the range, and this is the very first picture of the 'fab four' hot off the production line. It was very much a solo launch as I didn't have any business partners, and had to rely on my gut feel, values and beliefs for my new brand. There were so many decisions to make, and the brand name was one of the very hardest. In the end my mum's cousin Veronica helped me with the name Breckland Orchard ...so very much a family affair right from the start.
The Apprentice has morphed from a business[ish] programme to an entertainment programme over the years, but last night hopefully proved that its not easy to launch a drink which resonates with buyers and consumers[!] So today I am feeling especially proud of having come so far over the last years, and having a thriving soft drinks business, which buyers/customer love!
Cheers

3 年Can’t watch it any more… the challenges used to be vaguely realistic and candidates given space to develop something…. Now it’s just a nonsense. Your business, however is great (and still cited in my strategic management lectures) ??

3 年Remembering the marketing strategy launch over in the USA! You knocked them over with your uniqueness, quality and branding! If my memory serves me correctly, your pitch was pretty spot on????????agree? Milly Stokes Georgie Mason Thomas Jarrett and other UK delegates attending NAFDMA. Gives me great pleasure to see your fab range in so many places!
