How To Avoid Presenting Mistakes

There are some simple mistakes we can avoid with the injection of a little knowledge of presenting. A recent speaker announced at the start that he would be loud and he delivered.

I was wondering, given the audience was only about 20 people, why he needed to be loud?

He was missing out on using voice modulation to retain audience interest and mark out key words over others. He could have used pauses too, to allow us to digest what we were being told.

At the end he ran out of time, rushed the last slides, the ones with all the main juice, had Q&A and simply finished. He didn't leave us with a ringing message for us to remember, after the presentation was over. All own goals really, that could have been avoided if he knew what he was doing.

How do you avoid these unforced errors? Watch this short video for the answers.
