How To Avoid The Noise Pollution Of Snoring.....

Snoring can be a difficult problem for some people. The process happens because of a condition that causes the throat to become relaxed while sleeping. If the problem becomes serious, it can cause insomnia for both the sleeper and for those who are trying to sleep while you are snoring. 

Snoring can also lead to such sleeping disorders as sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is caused by a blockage in the breathing pathways which eventually wakes the sleeper because of a lack of air. Another condition that is the cause for snoring, is extreme fatigue.

In either case, both should be checked by a doctor to make sure that the condition doesn’t turn into something life threatening. If the condition is just snoring, but without the serious complications, then here are some remedies that may help in controlling, or stopping, the snoring. 


Each of these methods is a natural means to stop snoring. By using these tips, you should be able to get a good night sleep without a problem.


Learn to sleep sideways, or on your side to avoid issues when it comes to snoring. Use a body pillow to help position yourself in a way that keeps you sleeping on your side. The position of sleeping on your side can assist in preventing the relaxed muscle in the throat from blocking the breathing pathways of the sleeper. An old trick is to tape a tennis ball to the back of your sleeping clothes to stop you from turning over. If the bed is a recliner, then it can be set to make sure that the sleeper doesn’t turn over onto their back. The recliner bed should be set at a position that is angled with the head up which should free the nasal airways to allow better breathing.

Try using peppermint oil and Goldenseal to help stop or control snoring. If the problem is congestion, then peppermint oil can remedy that situation. The oil is known for being an accurate means of curing and relieving the nasal passageways from blocked congestion. Goldenseal is another means to stop congestion in your chest and nasal areas. The product is usually found in powder, liquid, and capsules. You can even mix the contents into a tea to be ingested. Try to avoid caffeine in the drink as this can cause the opposite and disrupt your sleeping pattern. 

Spearmint and Fenugreek can help to ease digestive issues that may be the cause of the snoring. Both are herbs that greatly reduce the digestive abnormalities that may be causing sleep interruption. The herbs can help to regulate acid in the digestive tract in order to cause a decrease in snoring. Indigestion can be one of the main causes of sleep disorders. Fenugreek is known to help stop sleep apnea while improving the digestive system. Spearmint is known to assist in relieving the complication of acid reflux which can contribute to snoring.

Vitamin C is also another good way to control snoring by helping to clear the sinus passages. Air obstructions can happen when the sinuses are irritated. The sinuses can cause the mouth to open and the uvula to hang in a way that causes vibration to occur which eventually leads to snoring. Vitamin C helps to increase the potential of the immunity system and to reduce any problems associated with the sinuses. Papaya, pineapple, broccoli and red bell peppers are some of the best means of getting vitamin C into your diet to help with controlling and stopping the snoring. 

Use Eucalyptus and Peppermint in order to relieve issues with the sinuses and a chest cold that may be the reason for snoring. The method for using eucalyptus is to place them in a steam inhaler and breathing it through the mouth or nose to clear the sinuses. You can also use a steam bowl that contains hot water with five drops of eucalyptus and five drops of peppermint added. Remember steam is hot and can burn, so be careful when inhaling the contents. The purpose of this procedure is to reduce the inflammation that occurs in the sinuses and throat areas. You can use a neti pot with the right combination of salts and pure water. Do not use essential oils in a neti pot as this can cause serious complications with burning the membranes of the nasal passages.

Sometimes the air that is the room can be too dry, causing nasal and throat passageways to become irritated and cause congestion. The congestion restricts the airways causing a person to snore. A humidifier can help to reduce this problem by regulating the dry air in the room. Better air can assist with having a good night sleep and you can even add essential oils to some humidifiers. 

Avoid or reduce the volume of the alcohol that you consume. Alcohol tends to relax the throat and tongue to a point that it causes snoring to occur. Drinking can even make your current problem of snoring become worse. By limiting or avoiding the alcohol, we can severely reduce our sleeping problems that are associated with snoring. 

Do regular exercises with your throat and tongue to help to reduce snoring. By conditioning your throat and tongue you can help to reduce your problems with snoring. Put your upper molars and lower molars gently together, then open your mouth with a focus on pressing your molars wide apart but do not overstretch. Do this about ten to fifteen times a day to see results and to feel the back of your mouth opening to avoid any sleep complications and to reduce snoring.

Snoring can be regulated and controlled if the proper procedures and followed and maintained. The idea is to keep the mouth, throat, and nasal pathways free of blockages that will cause hindrance in breathing. Make sure to check with a doctor if the problem becomes worse or you find that the procedures that you are using to control the snoring are inadequate.
