How to avoid the feast and famine rollercoaster

How to avoid the feast and famine rollercoaster

When you run a service-based business, having a predictable, profitable and sustainable revenue level is what most people want to achieve.

Often it seems so far away though.

Sure, you've hit those "good months" where you've not only hit your financial goal but you've absolutely hit it out the park, but they're not the norm because one month you're up and the next you're down.

Feast and famine is an easy trap for business owners to fall into.

It normally comes from short-term thinking and reactive, tactical actions, where you can often find yourself on the journey of reactive promoting and selling so that you can get a quick cash injection into the business.

Predictable flow of new clients.

Predictable revenue forecasts.

And a nice steady growth trajectory is what most of the business owners I work with are striving for.

Here's 5 essentials so you can work towards that predictable flow of clients right now....

A?clear vision and mission?that drives your focus on what you want and how you want your business to develop and grow so you don't end up caught in the traps of overthinking and procrastination.

A sustainable business model?and a great service offering that works for you and delivers results for your clients in a repeated and structured way without you ending up burnt out because you're working all the hours.

A simple marketing strategy?where you're not trying to do everything but simply focusing and doubling down on the things that work well so you bring the right people into your audience and build meaningful relationships with them.

A streamlined sales process?where you can pre-qualify the right people and convert those into paying clients in an authentic and totally aligned way without feeling that horrible ick!

And an ability to manage your own state and performance?so you have enough energy to show up consistently and unwavering confidence around taking what can feel like scary steps towards achieving your vision.

If you're caught in that feast and famine trap, it's likely that one or more of these things need some work.

Can you pin point which one(s)?

When you do, it means that you can start working on resolving them.

But if you're sitting there, reading this and thinking "blimey Del, I need to work on all that stuff", then the best thing to do is to ask for some help.

There's no doubt that you can, if you take the time to upskill, work through each one logically and implement those required changes you'll get off that revenue rollercoaster.

But, if, like many of my clients, you're a bit more impatient than that and want to crack the heck on and create the impact and income you know you're capable of, then the best thing is to ask for some help.

So i'm offering you the opportunity to book a 30 minute clarity call with me where together, we can work out what to focus on right now and how you can start making some changes that'll help get you out of that feast and famine trap!

Don't fall into the trap of getting in your own way because there are people out there right now who need the thing that you do!

Yes! After 24 years I had a much better feel for my financial year and would just trust that the work would come. It takes a while to see a pattern and to have that trust and I know that when I took my eye off my marketing (eg this year with Dad) then I’d feel it around 3/4 months later (I did!) Great advice Del ??
