How to avoid burnout at work
Job burnout is a unique form of work-related stress. It is a state of physical or psychological tiredness that also includes a sense of diminished accomplishment and a loss of one's sense of self.?
Do you recognise these signs of burnout:
Are you taking on more than one role at work or unable to balance your work and personal life, making one suffer for the other? Are you often the go-to person whenever the company needs someone to take on an assignment or job, leaving you exhausted? All these and more could contribute to feeling burnt out.
Here are five ways to avoid work burnout:
Work with purpose: Find out the impact of your job on other people and ways to derive joy and happiness from what you do. Sometimes that can be hard to find because we're conditioned to believe that the only thing that matters is ourselves. But when we look beyond ourselves and see how we're affecting others, our work becomes meaningful and fulfilling in ways we never expected.

Manage your time effectively: Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. Have to-do lists and account for all your daily activities. Prioritise your daily tasks and avoid procrastination. Please give yourself a treat for making it through your to-dos.
Delegate duties: No matter how hard you work, working alone has limitations. There are only so many hours in a day. Have someone else take on some projects so that you can free yourself and focus on the tasks that need your 100%.
Learn to manage stress: Getting stressed at work is expected, and every employee should have a way they cope with and manage stress. Keep your stress levels under control to achieve achievement. To manage work fatigue, you can read a book, watch a short video, take a walk, or start a brief conversation with a colleague. Clear your head and come back to work feeling rejuvenated.
Take all your leave days: Your leave days are there for you to take to rejuvenate. Do not be that employee that derives pride from not taking their allotted time off. Use your leave days to detach yourself from work and focus on other things that give you joy. You'd be surprised how refreshed and pumped you'll be when it's time to return to work.
