How to avoid being "burned" by a coaching program

Been talking to a few coaches this week who have been "burned" by coaching programs that didn't live up to expectations.

So I thought I'd let you know how to avoid this happening to you

When I first joined the coaching world I got sucked into the hype of a huge "guru" coaching program

Their testimonials were amazing... their clients seemed to be crushing it!

I eagerly jumped on a sales call and was promised $10k months after going through their program

I took out 2 loans and maxed out my credit card to join (please don't do this)

There was so much stuff to do and learn that it was overwhelming, especially for a beginner like me.

This program was far more suited to coaches who already had an established business and those were the people who were giving the incredible testimonials.

I needed VERY different support for the stage of business I was in.

5 figures invested and 3 months later I was no closer to booking clients than when I started. I was up to my eyeballs in debt.

For a long time, I was really angry

But eventually, I let the anger go and realised that there were many lessons in this experience for me

The main one being that I never ever wanted my clients to feel this way.

Which is why I love working 1-1 with my clients and keeping the process as simple as possible ??

So here's what to look for when you're deciding whether or not to work with a coach:

• Take a good look at their marketing and see if they talk about who is a good fit for their program and who is not
• Do they describe their methods and processes? Or is it all a big secret?
• Do they share a lot of hypey posts? Or do they explain things in detail?
• If you ask them questions about their methods do they give you a clear answer or do they tell you that's only for paying clients?
• Do their testimonials look too good to be true? Or do they seem real?

Most of the coaches I see out there don't go into any kind of detail about their methods, processes and who is a good fit or not.

They are vague and hypey

And love sharing tons of testimonials from their very best clients

All of these are red flags and you should proceed with caution.
