When it comes to financial service industry especially as insurance advisor or investment advisor, many people feel this way.
They've somehow gotten the idea that you have to look impressive to impress the "right" people. That’s the reason many people has misconception of practitioner in this industry.
Looking impressive might give people a good first impression, but it's who you ARE that people are more interested in.
Here's my 4-step recommendation
1: Focus on developing your character and competency. Build yourself up to become a high trust person.
2: Show them who you truly are. Be truthful about what you’re specialised in.
3: Stop expect anything from anyone. Just focus in treating everyone sincerely.
4:Dress up neatly. You do not need to impress with all branded clothing, just be yourself and dress presentably to the occasion.
It’s that simple.
