How To Attract High-Paying Clients Through Blogging

How To Attract High-Paying Clients Through Blogging

At least 7 million people are said to visit blogs like Buffer, HubSpot, and Neil Patel, monthly - high-paying clients inclusive, often converting into leads. What drives this consistent, high-volume traffic?

High Paying Clients

High-paying clients pay attention to details. They think long-term and take calculated risks. They are attracted to excellence; they like quality and results, and once they can see proof that something is working, good or real, they don’t mind any amount to get a top-notch version, be it a product or service.?

Their work is already complicated and a lot, so they need simple solutions, straight to the point, and are willing to pay good money to get their desired results. If you don’t have this background understanding, it would be a hit-and-miss trying to attract high-paying clients on any platform.?

Why Blogging Attracts High-Paying Clients

Despite the decline in reading and increase in video content consumption, high-network individuals read a lot. 80% of decision-makers want articles, not ads from potential partners (Source).?

And reading is often preferred because of a lot of details that go into it that most videos lack. Have you noticed that even YouTubers refer people to check the description below the video for links to an article, a form, a PDF, etc? That’s where you find the details. You see how it ties?

Reading requires active engagement and critical thinking, which appeals to high-net-worth individuals, and whatever will make high-paying clients read has to be a blog post that’s well-written, and seasoned with detailed research - enough to help them with informed decisions.?

How To Attract High-Paying Clients Through Blogging

If you don’t have a blog, or you do but have not been attracting high-paying clients through blogging, I’ve got something for you at the bottom of the article (action point). Now, let’s get started.

Step 1: Have Content Pillars That Speak To Your Audience

I am starting with content pillars assuming you understand your target audience. Now, whatever they search for online falls into one or more of these buckets:

  • About Product
  • Reviews:?
  • Industry News
  • Educational

Educational:?

High-paying clients are high-earning clients, not because they work harder, but because of what they know. And what they know is owing to their constant thirst for knowledge. This is why they are always searching online for How To.?

Oftentimes, they type certain keywords to search for specific knowledge on certain things because they are entrepreneurial in their mindset. This means they are always looking for how to solve one problem or the other, how to improve their business, etc.?

Sometimes, they just want to stay up to date with trends and best practices. And if your product is a tech product, writing on how to use your tech product, how to enjoy your tech services, how to solve a technical problem using your product, or content related to the solution your tech company offers will automatically get their attention and boost traffic on your blog.

Reviews: 85% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations (Source: BrightLocal, 2020). 91% of consumers read online reviews before making a purchase (Source: Spiegel Research Center, 2017). Positive reviews increase conversion rates by 270% (Source: PowerReviews, 2018). Negative reviews can deter 40% of potential customers (Source: BrightLocal, 2020). 72% of consumers say positive reviews make them trust a business more (Source: BrightLocal, 2020).?

Now imagine this: whenever people search for reviews of different products within your industry, your blog appears on the first page of millions of searchers, thousands of them click to read, hundreds of them subscribe to your email list for similar articles in the future, and tens of them click on a call to action link to interact with you, make inquiry and purchase your product. Easier said than done, yeah? Agreed, but that’s how it works.

About Product:

Your product is not static. As a company that’s constantly striving to generate leads through cold calling, cold email, ads, etc, you are also conscious of the high competition out there and are always seeking to improve your product.?

So, even if you have written about your product out there, there is a need to continue writing about it, especially as new features are added and updates are made. It helps users and potential buyers of your product to understand your product better.

Clients can only trust who they know, and this content pillar helps to answer what your product or service is all about, how relevant it is to them, how much it costs, etc.

Industry News:?

Some brands stay at the top of their niche by blogging about recent happenings within the industry. Interestingly, that’s where you find high-paying clients, CEOs, MDs, and other executives because they read industry news to stay updated.?

While it is not compulsory to blog about industry news (because we can’t all be new bloggers), its added advantage is that blogging about industry news is one great way to provide value to high-paying clients. Industry news is their breakfast. It helps them stay aware of their niche, and it influences their decision-making.

Step 2: Prioritize quality blog posts to attract high-paying clients

Since I published How To Start A Fabrics Business In Nigeria with Very Small Amount in 2019 on Nairaland, I have never stopped getting clients through the blog post. Google ranked it topmost on search engines. We know that 95% of search traffic goes to the first page of search results (Source), so imagine the leads I have been getting in the past 4 years.

In addition to my other online presence, my articles on LinkedIn have consistently generated leads and referrals for my services. I often receive inquiry from potential clients who found me through the platform. A founder/CEO of a tech company commented on my article, How to attract Investors In Nigeria?with ‘’This is a life changing article. Thank you.’’?

Now for me, here’s the secret. The following companies stand out not just because they have good branding, but because they understand the importance of research - how it keeps them among the best companies in the world, and how their existence in business is largely dependent on the strength of their research and development

1. Amazon: $42.7 billion (2022)

2. Alphabet (Google): $37.9 billion (2022)

3. Microsoft: $24.9 billion (2022)

4. Facebook (Meta): $23.6 billion (2022)

5. Apple: $22.8 billion (2022)

6. Volkswagen: $22.4 billion (2022)

7. Samsung: $20.6 billion (2022)

8. Intel: $19.4 billion (2022)

9. Roche Holding: $17.4 billion (2022)

10. Coca-Cola: $16.5 billion (2022)

With billions of businesses out there, what differentiates the 99% from the 1% is not so far-fetched. And with millions of blog posts being written every hour all round the world, your blog has to rank among the 1% From topic research to keyword research, to research on every key fact stated in the article.

To attract high-paying clients with your blogging, Let your article be very original. Stay as far away as you can from AI-generated articles or articles copied from another source.? content be original, detailed, and SEO-rich. Original in the sense that it has fresh information and a new perspective to it without repetition or too much paraphrasing of a post from another blog.?

Detailed in the sense that it is very specific and has lots of valuable info. SEO-rich in the sense that it is well-optimized to increase the potential for ranking among the topmost on the first page of your audience search engine when they search for anything online with keywords related to your product.

Oftentimes, it is highly advised that you outsource it to a professional who understands the nitty-gritty of original, targeted, SEO-optimized content. Oh yes, it will cost you a fortune, but to attract a high-paying client through blogging, you must give a high-paying value - it drives solid engagement and visibility that generates leads and increases sales. And while the result is not always instant, it is perhaps one of the most effective forms of marketing and sales.?

Step 3: Promote Your Content

Now this is where many miss it. It’s not enough to have a blog site or to publish wonderful content. Imagine spending the next 16 months building a ‘’revolutionary’’ app and right after launching the app, you go to bed expecting that the app would automatically generate users and make you the next Zuckerberg. That’s what publishing a blog post without promotion looks like.

While your SEO strategy will do a good job, it’s not enough. Add these to your strategy:

  • Social Media: Create a summarized version of your blog post, and post it with the links across your social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, using strong hashtags that are related to your article.
  • Email marketing: Send a short email with a punchline as the subject, Share a bit from the article, then leave them a link to the article so they can click and read further. Wondering how effective email marketing is in promoting your blog posts and increasing your sales as a Nigerian fintech startup? Check this out:
  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Your post ranks topmost on search engines through paid promotion enabling people searching for related keywords to find you. 51% of users find a new company or product after using a search engine (Source).?

Next Steps:

I suggest you commit to testing everything you have read by trying it for the next three months and comparing the results with your current company’s sales performance afterward. You can also outsource it to me to write blog posts for you that will attract high-paying clients. It won’t break the bank, and whatever it will cost you will always be worth the result you get in the end. It may even cost less than you expect.
