Candidate Attraction and Engagement If you have tried to recruit any time in the last 3 years, you’ll know just how challenging it is to get the right candidates engaged in the advertisement or job application process. We’ll share our observations about how best to maximise your recruitment process.
Employer Value Proposition (EVP) Employer Value Proposition refers to the unique set of benefits and experiences a company offers to attract and retain employees. It's essentially a two-way street:
For the Employer: You get to highlight what makes your company stand out from competitors, attracting qualified candidates who are a good fit for your culture.
For the Employee: You offer a clear picture of what they can expect in return for their skills and experience. This includes factors like salary, benefits, work environment, and career development opportunities.
A strong EVP is critical in today's competitive job market. It helps you:
Here are some key elements that make up a strong EVP:
Developing a strong EVP requires careful consideration of your company's values, goals, and what makes you unique. It should be authentic and resonate with the audience you're trying to attract. The stats!
In research, it has been shown that the main 2 drivers for moving job roles are salary increase (26%) and career progression opportunities (22%). That’s a huge volume of the population of ‘active’ candidates who look for those 2 things.?
3 out of 4 people have highlighted that they feel stress in their current job, which may also be aligned with the current skills shortages. In a recent study, 92% of businesses stated they experienced skills shortages, and almost half (46%) said that this hurt staff morale and welfare. So it is essential to be an attractive proposition to obtain the right people, for the benefit of the role being advertised, but also for staff retention and productivity.
Location-based flexibility is also key, and being really clear on what is available is essential. It is worth noting that in 2023, 41% of searches for jobs were looking for remote first, however the number of remote first vacancies available dropped by 22%. That’s a huge pool of talent!
So how do we find the right people?
Having all the tools to recruit is one thing, however using them correctly is another.
