? Company performance: If the company is experiencing financial challenges, it may not be the right time. However, if it has recently celebrated significant wins or increased profitability, it could be an opportune moment to start the conversation.

? Personal performance: Ensure you ask for a raise following successful projects, performance reviews, or after consistently meeting and exceeding goals.

Tip: Observe the company’s budget cycles and aim to align your request with a time when budgets are being discussed.

Evaluate your performance and contributions

Prepare a solid case by evaluating your accomplishments and contributions to the organisation. Consider the following:

? Quantifiable results: Back up your achievements with numbers where possible. For example, “I increased client retention by 15%” or “I contributed to a 20% improvement in team productivity.”
