How to Ask & Attract

There are two simple ways to get what you want in life or business:
1. You can ask for it.
2. You can attract it.
ASK: A piece of information or content with a specifically designed “ask” built-in for the target market that will inspire them to take action.
Ask people for help or ask people if they know somebody who can help. When you ask people if they know somebody that can help, you have exponentially more success, because everyone has hundreds of connections to other people on average.
ATTRACT: A piece of information or content with no clear ask but that instead has the goal of drawing the target audience’s attention to a brand or inspires them to take some action, whether defined or undefined.
An attract’s result comes when you are focused and put both your attention and intention on what you want in life, whether personally or professionally.
There are four ways to ask or attract:
● In-person

● Over the phone
● Via email
● Via (social) media
Statistically, you stand a better chance for success if you have some sort of strategic ask in almost everything that you do.
Think about it: If you make one additional ask per day and convert at around 10 percent, then you have three people each month providing you with benefits that you'd have missed otherwise.
If you would like an easier form of asking I have an overlap agreement I send when connecting people. Instead of asking for something every time a deal gets created as a result of you connecting people, this agreement creates the guidelines from the start. Now you will get a certain percentage of any deal you help make and a higher percentage if you close the deal.

2 年When most people think of success, they likely think about things like hard work, determination, and grit. However, there is one more key ingredient that is often overlooked: strategy. Think about it: if you want to be successful in anything, you need a plan. This holds true for both big and small goals alike. Whether you’re trying to ace a test or land your dream job, having a strategy in place will give you a better chance for success. One of the best ways to employ a strategic approach is by using what I call “tactical kindness.” This means being kind and professional in all your interactions, no matter how small they may seem. For example, sending a thank-you note after an interview or following up with a client after meeting them for the first time can make a big difference.

2 年Yes! Fundamental tips; but the devil is in the execution of it. Asking is one thing but then making it easy/uncomplicated for the connector highly increases our success ratio. Additionally, tying back value to your connector - home run! Example: “Tej, thanks for connecting me to David for this reason xxx, I will also remind them (gently) of your value” (help fortify their relationship). Most of the time our connector offers intel or an ask that they may have. Remind the person we connect with the value of our mutual connector - especially helpful to advocate for them where they may not be comfortable advocating/positioning themself. Never a perfect system but proven for sure. Mutual leverage is King!
