How artificial intelligence will step change Uniform Management efficiency

mySkypro Portal enables autonomous uniform forecasting and ordering for managers and employees to reduce up to 40% of costs and complexity

With the coronavirus pandemic, several industries may struggle to deliver on 2020 targets. More than ever it is important to maximise efficiency and remove unnecessary costs and complexity. Yet managing uniforms is a complex task by definition – with several pieces per workgroup tailor-fitted to crew, different production lead times per garment and several sizes of each reference to manage. The quick solution of the uniform puzzle is to manage in bulk – order large quantities of each size set, create bulk fitting sessions with large groups of employees and overwhelm warehouses with large numbers of crew collecting garments at the same time.

However this methodology can turn out to be highly inefficient – different sizes are used up at different rates, leaving companies with stock shortages on certain items and surplus on others. Crew have to wait hours for their fitting sessions, warehouses have uneven workloads making it hard to predict staffing requirements and with so many garments to manage from different suppliers, it is not always easy to stay up to date on costs per active worker and performance.

Discover mySkypro Portal Uniform Management System

After 16 years supplying uniforms and shoes to some of the world’s most reputable companies including Qatar Airways, Virgin Voyages and TAP Portugal, SKYPRO’s CEO Jorge Pinto saw an opportunity to facilitate uniform management. Built together with a group of developers, SKYPRO reveals mySkypro Portal – the first artificial intelligence-powered Uniform Management System that helps improve crew satisfaction, save management time and significantly reduce inventory costs by up to 40%. How does it do that?

1.      Crew are empowered to manage their own uniforms from order to delivery

With our customized user-friendly portal, crew can shop online for their entitlement, schedule their fitting session directly with the tailor and have their uniforms delivered at their doorstep. This reduces idle time and increases employee satisfaction – the ordering data then nicely fuels the portal’s AI stock-predicting capabilities

2.      Uniform managers receive notifications when new orders must be placed, the optimal quantities and size split

Our smart learning system matches set parameters and uniform ordering behaviour with existing stock levels and production lead times. The result: a forecasting system that delivers notifications to uniform managers on when to place orders and what quantities of each size. With a click of a confirmation button POs are raised and the order is delivered straight to manufacturers – reducing the need to over-order and overstock, or the risk of having stock shortages force costly emergency orders.

3.      Companies have access to real-time reports for full transparency

When entering the portal, managers will automatically be directed to the “Cockpit” – a set of real-time graphs and notifications with all the data they need in one place: incurred and predicted costs, cost per active worker, stock reorder notifications, crew renewal rates… all customisable to the manager’s needs.

4.      Integration of several suppliers’, corporate and HR Enterprise Resource Planning systems for all-in-one solution

This means companies are able to manage all their uniform suppliers (even when that supplier is not SKYPRO) using one simple tool, as well as all different workgroups – facilitating reporting and order management.

Here is what one of our clients, Groundforce Portugal, had to say about mySkypro Portal:

“The mySkypro Portal Uniform Management System will drive efficiency gains and speed up the uniform delivery process at Groundforce Portugal, bringing more convenience and agility to our crew. We believe managing corporate uniforms through an online portal will be the model for how uniform procurement is handled in the future, saving resources and time spent on non-core activities so that managers and crew can focus on their essential functions.” Ana Paiva, Processes and Development Director at Groundforce Portugal
