How Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we are marketing these days

We have all seen how artificial intelligence is little by little or aggressively changing the way we are marketing nowadays, from the incredible Tesla car sent to space and their self-driving cars; as well as the Google ones (I love those, when I see them around my street they make me feel famous for a millisecond), Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, or even Siri from Apple or Alexa; our favorite music speaker and sometimes friend. We are definitely right to think that Artificial Intelligence will revolutionize our lives and will be more central to the daily digital world; as well as the Advertising and Marketing one.

Artificial Intelligence is designed to “think” like a human (it is the intelligence that is showcased by machines, as opposed to the natural intelligence in humans) and it is currently incorporated in many of the devices or technologies we are using; like Siri which I already mentioned above. While AI has been around from quite some time, it is more visible now thanks to the raising power of computers and technology innovations.

But before explaining the PROS that Artificial Intelligence will bring us as Digital Marketers, I would like you to know one key point why AI is extremely good.

  • AI accounts for lesser errors: why? Well, there is a famous quote that has been around there for years that states “Err is human”. AI allows us to have fewer errors in any work related task we might be doing as well as decrease our time spent into figuring out these errors plus finishing X task.

AI will allow us humans to spend less time with data, search optimization, targeting and lead generation and business owners as well as employees, will find themselves having more time to focus and develop more creative and financial decisions as well as marketing activities.

With the help of AI, online support interaction will be more effective; since online support interaction will be definitely more flawless and machines can easily predict consumer/customer behavior to solve any type of issues.

AI, like I’ve mentioned before, will be key for Digital Marketing due to some of the following reasons:

  1. It is going to personalize any user experience at great extend: Our customers or consumers are our “GODS” and content is our “GOD”, if you happen to be a marketer. If we can align AI with content marketing strategy it could be ground-breaking! Imagine the following, based on the data collected by “the machine” such as customers or consumer searches, buying behaviors and interests, we as business owners will be able to customized our content marketing strategies and campaigns and be able to do so to EVERY single customer or prospect one.
  2. Our return on investment (ROI) will be much better! AI as you know (or did not, but now you will) uses a high-level image recognition. This can allow us to have payment processes more effectively and way faster than what they are now. Machine learning (AI) helps us collect the right data from users’ behaviors and adds it up to it’s inventory with a much better database and design and since this is all based on audience interests and user experience, will allow a better decision-making algorithm which will bring a better ROI.

My personal opinion is that EVERY Digital Marketing specialist as well as any MARKETING specialist out there or even entrepreneurs, SHOULD learn about AI. It is becoming more and more integrated into our world and some people out there might think it is actually invading their privacy; but it will be up to you as a Digital Marketing specialist to use it ethically.

Another tip I have for you is that you don’t have to really, really understand it in its core, cause it is absolutely math and ughhhh!; but you should know the basics because it will be incorporated in all the marketing activities developed in the near future, since it is shaping the way marketing is being done today and will eventually shape any of your strategies.

And to conclude, thanks to social media and data, we now know our customers way better than before, and AI and all its technologies will bring us (marketers) and consumers closer than before. So let’s wait and see how this incredible technology will evolve and how these tools will become more and more useful when it comes to analyzing and predicting the buyer or consumer journey. It just happened to the company I am currently consulting, we thought consumers were using our product because of Y, X and Z and after AI and lots of data we came to realize our consumers were using our product because of B. What a magical moment!!!
