If you haven’t heard, the International Monetary Fund cut its 2022 global forecast, reducing GDP growth from 4.9 percent to 4.4 percent. According to their World Economic Outlook report published January 25th, our “global economy enters 2022 in a weaker position than previously expected”. Driving factors are the spread of Omicron, continued supply chain disruptions and inflation.?

We are only a few weeks into 2022 and the economic outlook continues to remain uncertain. What we wake up to in the morning is entirely different from what we end up with at the end of the day. While it may seem like so many events are out of our control, we CAN control how we react to them.?

So we ask, what are you doing within your means to integrate supply chain solutions within your community as we try our best to navigate these uncertain times??

Mr. Phillip Brown, Housing Director for the Shinnecock Indian Nation recommended a holistic approach to address the tribe's homeless and transitory problem, which worsened the spread of COVID-19, and is driven by poverty. The Shinnecock Indian Nation solution includes the construction of a 6-building community called the Homeless Transitional Housing Development (HTHD). This will become a proving ground and showcase for locally made technologies providing livable sustainable housing for the homeless while stimulating regional economic growth through local supply chain development and the creation of good paying jobs in construction and manufacturing. This solution will provide tribal members and other disadvantaged people and communities with a chance to rise from poverty and progress towards economic equality while accelerating locally made sustainable technologies into the global marketplace.
