Danielle Keiser - Continuing the discussion, let's show the world that women can have respectful discussions even when they are on opposing opinions.
If you were the leader of a small country with very little money and you cared about your people's quality of life, what would you spend your money on? Food, security, education, and health, or building 500 km of tunnels, endless war weapons, creating a school education system that teaches religious hate, and legalizing mass murder, rapes, and beheadings of children?
Imagine living in a private house with a yard that you've worked hard to take care of and make as beautiful as possible. You've also invested in your children's education to ensure they are loving, caring, and respectful to others, regardless of their beliefs.
On the other hand, your next-door neighbor has spent years and a significant amount of money building tunnels in his backyard. Sometimes he throws things at your yard, leading to vocal confrontations and police involvement. Eventually, you decide to build a higher fence at your own expense to avoid this nonsense. However, your neighbor continues to shoot missiles at you, kidnaps your youngest daughter, and aims to scare you off your home to take control of your territory, all because he believes it's his land given by God. What would you do? Most likely, you would call the police for intervention.

But this guy has 10 children, and he has placed bombs around his home, keeping your daughter somewhere deep in the tunnels. When the police attempt to enter the house, one policeman dies from stepping on a bomb. More reinforcements arrive, aiming at his house. They have the power to destroy the house completely, including the children, without risking more policemen. However, they decide to negotiate first, as they don't want to harm the children.
The police ask the guy what he wants, and he says he wants your house, believing it is rightfully his. Will you give him your house? You don't know if you will get your daughter back. She is still alive, barely, injured, and wounded with no medical care. Childcare authorities intervene, emphasizing that the 10 innocent children in the house should not be harmed as they are not to blame for the guy's behavior.
The guy has plenty of food and ammunition in the house and can hide in the tunnels for months. The two things he lacks inside his house, and is dependent on from the outside, are electricity and water. The police continue talking, urging him to release his children, as they do not want to harm them. He refuses, keeping them on the top floor, denying them access to the tunnels, and providing them with very little food and water.
This analogy reflects the current situation in Palestine, where your daughter's life is at risk. The neighbor has shown a willingness to harm children for his cause. What would you do to save your daughter's life?

1 年I really applaud your willingness to respectfully discuss an extremely emotionally laden and difficult situation Hilla Shaviv and Danielle Keiser. Media/news (correct and false) is so fast, no one can possibly be everywhere all at once and 'see everything for themselves' and we are all fed 'more of the same' through our digital and social bubbles. It seems the only way to find good workable solutions to difficult problems and try and counteract against societies further splitting apart is to talk/communicate, understand perspectives, assumptions, lived experiences and interests.
