How any Woman can Exude Confidence in Sales, Management or Personal Meetings

Sally was preparing for a meeting. A few minutes before it was to begin, she approached me in the hallway with a few questions regarding what she might expect of her new boss, in her first meeting with her (yes, the boss was a 'she', too).

I had recently come across a video online which had clarified things in my own mind, how to appear confident when going into a meeting. It can be challenging for women (and men) to appear as confident as we might wish. With so many variables inside & outside a meeting room, it can be a challenge not to appear nervous or flustered, no matter how many meetings you've experienced in your life.

Especially when starting at a new company or even when meeting with friends, the three tips below can help you appear assured, confident and ready for almost anything. Here are the three tips, I use myself (in text and the video, below);

#1. Want NOTHING. If you go into your meeting wanting nothing, and in a feeling of abundance, this is likely to come across clearly. When you feel secure in your own needs, you will be more charismatic.

#2. FOCUS on what you know. If it's not your area of expertise, best stay quiet. Being silent can be very powerful. Even if you don't have any idea what others are discussing, they won't know that, unless you reveal so by speaking. I've been in meetings where I knew nothing of what was being discussed, and I came out of the meeting better than anyone else - simply because I had stayed silent.

#3. Be prepared to WALK AWAY. Never let anyone abuse you verbally (or physically) as a woman, sales person colleague or whatever. When you're prepared to walk away from a meeting, it gives you the power you need to keep things going in your favor.

These tips are simple, yet powerful. Give them a try in your daily work & personal life & like me, you may feel more confident in meetings.
