The start of a new year brings new beginnings. But, for affiliate managers, it should be business as usual.?
Why? Because the most successful affiliate managers are constantly looking for ways to learn and develop their skills. I still invest in growing my skill set and last year completed a mini MBA in Marketing with Mark Ritson from Marketing Week. Learning is part of the process of working in digital marketing and especially in performance marketing as a whole. After all, the more you know, the more prepared you will be to support your partners and boost success across your program.?
So, as we speed head-first into 2024, one question that may be on everyone’s lips…?

Data might not be the most exciting part of affiliate marketing but skip this step and you’ll find yourself having to pay. So, ensure you have a thorough grasp of it, across all levels of your program. This will allow you to identify the parts of your business that need to be optimised and create new goals to shoot for.?
Good Things Come In Small Packages
Holding out for that big fish that’s going to come along and turn everything around? It sounds appealing… But finding that star affiliate might not be the best path to go down if you’re chasing success.
Most successful companies start out small before they make it big. So, make sure you’re not discounting smaller affiliates based solely on where they are now. Instead, consider their future potential.?
If you build a relationship with a company like this early on, then you can ride that wave of success together. Which is going to be a far more meaningful success for your career. This is something that should be at the forefront of your mind when talking to smaller partners.?
Everyone has to start somewhere and these ground-level partners might be exactly what you need to build success. You also need to consider that they may not actually be small, remember they work across multiple brands and programs so you just might not be getting the lions share of their business - yet!?
