How Alberta pulls together
When the Ft Mac fires were raging thru the town and the residents were pulling out, we knew a lot of the electrical infrastructure we helped to build with Atco would be destroyed. Some of this is really specialized trucking, with large pickers, equipped with grapples, pole trailers and specially trained operators. We wanted to offer our help but most of these units are now sequestered under the Fortis banner; and they are busy.
My brother Jim and I, phoned our contacts in Fortis and got hold of Ron Stefura, the head of all logistics, warehousing for all of Alberta. We told him if Atco phoned us for help we were going to have a very hard time turning them down.
Without hesitation, Ron said to "Go for it." That Fortis would cooperate in every way they could.
We phoned Scott Bailey of Atco electric offered our assistance, with the cooperation of Fortis. The offer was warmly accepted.
We don't know if they will call us; but we wanted to offer what we could.
This is a good place we live in; and good people that live here.
