How to Adult... no matter your age

When my eldest son turned 18, he couldn't wait to prove he was ready for the world and moved into an apartment with several friends.

I'll never forget the day he called me and said...

"Mom, will you take me to the grocery store and teach me how to shop?"

I was stunned and a little surprised, after all he'd been shopping with me since the day he was born.

It dawned on me that while he had been present, I had not taken the time to educate him on how to read labels, shop the perimeter, how to stretch available dollars, and so much more.

We all grow up learning life lessons - some are easy and many are learned the hard way. Many grow up with blinders on not knowing answers - and sometimes not knowing the questions to ask - until we find ourselves in situations of needing to educate ourselves.
