How to add prints to your wardrobe and look professional at the workplace!

Raise your hand if you are confused about adding prints/patterns to your wardrobe and looking professional in the workspace.

I would imagine a sea of hands! I know it can be confusing. I often get asked if it is appropriate to wear prints/patterns to work and if I will look professional.

First of all, yes, you can wear prints/patterns to the office. Prints are professional and appropriate for women. But the?bigger question remains what type of prints/patterns can you wear?

The pattern/print type can make our outfit more or less professional.

So let's go ahead and start with what type of prints/patterns you should pick to look the part.

I always suggest picking classic prints/patterns rather than trendy ones: for example:

  • Polka dots
  • Stripes?
  • Herringbone

Those are classic patterns and are more than appropriate to wear to work. Those?patterns/prints?are timeless and don't go out of style.

Geometric patterns are another great option as well. If you decide to pick those designs, make sure you select a classic silhouette like a button-up shirt to make sure you look professional. Here are some examples:

Size matter!

When picking the size, you should stick to small prints/patterns.??Large patterns can easily overwhelm your figure,?especially if you are petite.

I am not afraid of patterns and that they might not look professional Basia Richard I just am not much of a prints fan. I do have a few patterned pieces but not a whole lot.
