Did you know that Google Docs has a built-in drawing tool? This feature proves to be very useful to add drawings aside from inserting images to the document. It is always better to include images and drawings in documents to emphasize information, which is why Google Docs is one of the most used platforms in document creation.
It is very easy to add a drawing in Google Docs, here are some of the steps in adding a drawing.
How to draw in Google Docs
Log in to Google Drive and open Google Docs. If you're creating a new Google Doc, click on the "+ New" button followed by "Google Docs," or if you want to open a new document while on a document, you can simply click “File” > “New” > “Document.”
In the toolbar, click "Insert." and choose "Drawing" in the sub-menu, then click "+ New."
A pop-up window will appear, which will serve as your digital sketchbook. It has a toolbar that allows you to perform functions such as draw lines, shapes, inserting images, change colors, or create text boxes. All these features are available for your perusal using Google Docs.
Choose the best tool by clicking on it, then click and drag the tool across the workspace to draw with it. Again there are different tools you can use and different ways to use them; best to practice first by using the tools and clicking undo if you ever make a mistake. Once you are finished drawing, click "Save and Close."
Back in the day, using a similar application with Google Docs, you had to use another application if you wanted to draw, Google makes it easier for users to create documents and integrate drawings into it.
