In my previous article, I shared my thoughts on how you can adapt product mindset along with the Agile methodologies in your organization. The Product Mindset provides a connection between 1). How do you think and work towards your goals? and 2). How beneficial the final output is going to be to the end-user??
It is essential for each and every member of the organization to have a broad and receptive approach toward the Product Mindset. Whether it is your employees or yourself as a leader, all should take measures to grow towards the ultimate goal- user satisfaction.
During my initial days of struggle, while building my Agile Software Development Organization , I faced challenges but I didn’t step down. Persistence helped me learn new ways and I ensured that I re-share my learnings with my team.?

Steps to Adapt Product Mindset- For Employees
1. Identify the Problem
The most acceptable basis for discovering potential solutions is a well-described list of problems. Problems can be discovered as indications that objectives are not being met, both now and in the future. Identifying and accepting that a disparity exists, as well as crafting a problem identification statement, are the first two phases in problem identification.
You may make difficulties easier to deal with by accurately articulating them. To thrive, every businessman must be able to express concerns or challenges. As a result, I believe that recognizing the issue is the first step that every employee should take.
2. Establish the Value

What your buyer is willing to pay for is what you call value. Creating effective answers to hard challenges is becoming an increasingly important part of people’s jobs across the world. As a response, instead of emphasizing productivity, we must place a maximum force on results. It’s not just about how many things we can make; it’s also about the value or advantages that item can bring. As individuals, we must clearly explain why values are important.?
3. Verify the Outcome
“We don’t know what’s possible with technology — none of us really know until we actually see it.” ~Marty Cagan
Until the market validates value, it is merely an assumption. As Cagan points out in this line from his book, we typically overlook the creativity that our technologists and engineers can bring to bear on problems because they are not included in the planning and discovery processes. He believes that showing your users something that works and getting their opinion on it is more beneficial than running a focus group.

Validating the quality, clarity, and specifics of data is essential for mitigating project flaws. You risk making conclusions based on data that has flaws and isn’t indicative of the issue at hand if you don’t validate your data. While it is critical to check data inputs and values, the data model must also be validated.
Now, let me shift towards the organization point of view. What can leaders do to adapt product mindset. Let’s have a look at it.?
How can Leaders Adapt Product Mindset?
Try Outside-in Approach Over Inside-out Approach
Instead of growing from the inside out, grow from the outside in. The outside-in strategy is based on the idea that creating customer value is the key to success.?
Look at your consumers’ unmet requirements and convert them into solutions that will help them.?
The notion that an organization’s strengths and talents will provide a sustainable future drives the inside-out approach. Some firms may find this to be effective. However, the cost may be enhanced by internal efficiencies at the expense of consumer encounters.
Develop the growth perspective as a unifying, cross-company force in your business plan.
Make it a top priority for your team. It is the responsibility of the leadership to own it. Local initiatives are positive, but they are unlikely to succeed on their own.
Enable processes and systems. Integrate growth-mindset goals with the resources, procedures, and technology used in performance and talent management.
