How to Ace Your LinkedIn Content Without Losing Your Mind
Adrian Miller
I'm a sales strategist and content creator who helps businesses drive results with a one-two punch of targeted, customized messaging and proven sales strategies.
I know, I know, you’ve read a million articles like this before. Bear with me, though. I’m not a LinkedIn guru, but like you and the millions of others living in LinkedIn land these days, I want to ensure I’m as productive as possible. Productivity is part of the game, right?
So here are my tips tested and proven. I’ve started to see more connections, more traction, and yes, even DMs stemming from doing things this way.
1. Write Like You Speak
If you’ve never, in your life, used the word “truly” or any of those overly polished, AI-sounding words in regular conversation, skip them here too. LinkedIn is not about perfection, it’s about you. Your voice, your quirks, your style. Writing like you speak helps people connect with the real you, and that’s what builds relationships.
2. Don’t Stress Over “Monumental” Information
Not every post has to shake the internet. Honestly, most of the content on LinkedIn doesn’t. Stop second-guessing yourself as your fingers hit the keyboard. If you feel like you’re overthinking it, consider getting a writer to help. Why waste your time spiraling when you could outsource the stress?
3. Tell Stories (Even Small Ones)
Yes, I know you’ve heard this before, but it’s true, stories work. And no, they don’t have to be grandiose or emotionally charged. Start small. Look at your kids, your hobbies, or that song you can’t stop playing on repeat. Reflect on what’s working for you and why. Life is full of cues to inspire your storytelling; you just need to notice them.

4. Don’t Post Every Day
Let me be blunt and you already know this - pressure and stress shorten your life, ruin your joy, and make LinkedIn feel like a grind. Who wants that? Post when you have something worth sharing or when you feel ready. Quality always beats quantity.
5. Use DMs Thoughtfully
Many people go wrong and send connection requests or messages that are clearly written by AI. People can smell the lack of humanity a mile away. Instead, write your greetings and initial messages yourself. Personal, human-to-human messages make all the difference. This is where real conversations (and opportunities) begin.
Bonus Tip: Consistency Over Perfection
You don’t need to be perfect, you need to show up consistently. Stay true to your voice, offer value where you can, and don’t overthink it. The magic happens in the small, steady steps you take.
LinkedIn isn’t just a platform; it’s a community. And like any community, it thrives on real connection. By sharing your experiences, knowledge and being thoughtful with your interactions, you’ll start to see the kind of engagement and growth that matters.
If this all feels overwhelming or you just don’t have the time, reach out because I can help you create content that gets results and still feels like you. And reach out even if you don't need content. I'd really like to connect.

1 个月Adrian, no one is a "LinkedIn Guru" just because THEY say so... Your audience is the only folks that can give you that moniker. It takes hard work and (as you said) consistency to build a BRAND (Be Real And Never Doubt) out here and above all we have to provide value. Otherwise, we are just talking to ourselves. 1 个月I agree, and I am a “LinkedIn Guru.” I’d add that I like to flip it around and think about the kind of content I like to consume, and do content like that. Also, people often say, “I don’t know what to write about.” The answer is to begin by answering the top questions you are asked over and over. ??

1 个月I can recognize the posts and comments written by AI as opposed to the ones written by the real person. The thoughtful ones written by a real person are engaging. That makes all the difference.

1 个月Love these tips, Adrian. They really take the pressure out of what some of us have been taught (e.g. post frequently, be relatable, etc, etc). The most important thing is to connect with others, have fun, and share your message.
