How to Access Your Home Network with Dynamic DNS (No Static IP Needed)
Want to access your home network remotely but don’t want to pay for a static IP? Here’s a quick guide on how to use Dynamic DNS (DDNS) for that! DDNS links a domain name to your changing IP address, so you can always access your home network, even if your IP changes. Here’s how to set it up:
Step 1: Pick a DDNS Provider
First, create an account with a DDNS provider. Dynu.com is my favorite, but there are plenty of options like No-IP and DuckDNS. These services will let you create a domain name (like myhome.dynu.com) that maps to your dynamic IP address.
Step 2: Install the DDNS Client
Next, you’ll need to install a small client that updates your IP address automatically. If you’re using:
sudo systemctl start dynuiuc
sudo systemctl enable dynuiuc

Step 3: Set Up DDNS on Your Router (Optional)
If your router supports DDNS, you don’t even need to install a client! Log in to your router’s admin page, go to Dynamic DNS, and enter your DDNS provider’s info. Your router will automatically keep the IP updated.
Why Use DDNS?
That’s it! You now have easy, remote access to your home network, all without a static IP.
Feel free to comment if you have any questions or need help setting it up! ????
