Hi there! I'm sure that in your day-to-day life as a knowledge worker, you'd have come across scenarios with a need to paste the text you copied a few minutes ago, again. Or there are some text strings that we need to access time and again viz. name, address, phone number, etc.
What do you do in such cases? The response to this would be, to copy the required text again and for repetitive data, use the auto-fill functionality of the browser, right? But today, let's learn about a new inbuilt Windows functionality, the clipboard history.
Once enabled, clipboard history will remember all the text that you've copied and present them to you for reuse with the press of 2 buttons.
Steps to enable clipboard history
Press?[Windows + V]?and the clipboard screen will pop -up. Click on?[Turn On]?button and the clipboard history will be enabled.
You'll be immediately greeted by a quirky clipboard, prompting you to copy something!
Now, whatever you copy, will be stored in the clipboard history and accessible by pressing [Windows + V]. You can click on the required text and it will be copied to the active area on the screen.
Here's a short video displaying this visually:
You can also pin the most used text strings in the clipboard history. Whenever you clear the items from the clipboard history or restart the PC (a forgotten thing nowadays, I know!), the pinned text will not be deleted.
