New Medicare research finds that taking on just 5% more risk ‘would have netted an additional $886M in 2015. Moreover, here’s the formula for success:
“SUCCESS†= (Why + How/ P.M.A.) x Action Plan
“Success†means different things to different people. It is critical to clearly define what success means to you. Second define the “whyâ€. The “why†are the reasons for your quest. Here’s where you get the strategic fuel to keep you on course, e.g. “I will look better or everyone in the organization will benefit when this is realized.†Answering the “why†is deeply personal requiring much self-introspection and maybe even some collaboration. Third, is a "Positive Mental Attitude" (PMA). Here we leave the strategic dimension and enter into the tactical arena. Opposition, conflict, and competition will appear as surely as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Therefore, we need an “Action Plan†for sustaining us on our journey. If you don’t already have a PMA: 1) Read at least 10 minutes a day how someone else accomplished what you want to achieve. 2) Listen to positive successful people that are on their way up, and 3) Associate with them. “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.†Finally, develop a strategic, detailed, daily, timed action plan - it will keep you laser focused. Research your hero’s stories and you will find this formula indelibly imprinted throughout their life journey.
Most importantly, write this all down, refer to it when ever you feel overwhelmed. At least once a quarter review your plan and assess your performance against the plan.
