Ventura, CA — The Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura (HACSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alejandra Tellez as its newest commissioner. Ms. Tellez brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to public service that will further HACSB’s mission to provide safe, affordable housing and foster vibrant neighborhoods.
Ms. Tellez leads the Sustainability Division for the County of Ventura, driving initiatives that support the Board of Supervisors' goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve environmental performance. Under her leadership, the division integrates sustainable practices across County operations and collaborates with agencies, businesses, and community partners to promote sustainability.
A lifelong resident of Ventura, Ms. Tellez grew up on the Westside and attended local schools, including Sheridan Way, De Anza Middle School, and Ventura High School. Her roots run deep in the community, where she and her extended family continue to live and support West Ventura businesses. She earned a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University and is passionate about making a positive impact in her community.
“Growing up, I benefited from the programs offered by the Housing Authority and saw many of my childhood friends thrive in HACSB communities,” said Ms. Tellez. “I’m excited to give back by helping plan and develop sustainable housing for the next generation.”
Ms. Tellez’s insights and personal experience will be invaluable as HACSB continues to address the affordable housing needs of the Ventura community.
Ms. Tellez succeeds Selfa Saucedo, MPH, CPH , who served as a dedicated commissioner since 2012. HACSB extends its deepest gratitude to Ms. Saucedo for her years of service and unwavering commitment to the Ventura community.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alejandra Tellez to the HACSB Board of Commissioners,” said Jeffrey Lambert , Chief Executive Officer of HACSB. “Her expertise and passion for sustainability and equity in addition to her personal experience, will be instrumental in leading our organization. At the same time, we express heartfelt appreciation to Selfa Saucedo for her many years of service, which have left an enduring impact on our community.”
