Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Housekeeping Supervisor

?Supervises housekeeping staff as duties are being performed.

?Supervises the duties and tasks of laundry staff.

?Stocks and maintains supply rooms; orders supplies according to a budget.

?Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints in regard to housekeeping services.

?Ensures that rooms are kept clean and free from hazards.

?Ensures that all common areas are kept clean and free from hazards.

?Organizes all staff during the day and hosts daily meetings with housekeeping staff.

?Assists guests or patients with questions and basic requests.

?Provides a high level of customer service at all times; remains professional.

?Hires and fires housekeeping staff; trains new housekeepers after hire.

?Meets with company officials regularly in order to provide progress reports and address issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

?Understands the principles behind providing excellent customer service to guests or patients.

?Possesses the ability to manage a team of housekeepers effectively.

?Demonstrates organizational skills required for ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner.

?Shows basic budgeting skills and the ability to keep cleaning supplies and equipment stocked according to a budget.

?Exhibits the ability to teach others how to do their jobs in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.

?Is able to perform several tasks at the same time.

?Shows basic computer knowledge for the purposes of scheduling, recordkeeping and more.

Education and Experience

-A graduate of Hotel & Restaurant Management or any Housekeeping courses.

-Minimum 3 years working experience.

-Can work under pressure.

Work Environment

A private resort in Shalayhat Al Dubaiya, Kuwait. A housekeeping supervisor is required to perform the same housekeeping tasks as the individuals they supervise, so the work environment fluctuates based upon the types of services being performed as well as the facility in which the individual is working. In some cases, these individuals can be exposed to hazardous materials whether in the form of chemical or medical waste. Workweeks are traditionally 40 hours and five days, but overtime may become necessary in the event that the workload becomes great.

-w/ Visa 18 transferrable

-Can join immediately

-Preferably stay in staff in the work premises

  • To attend functions, events and hospitality as delegated by the Catering Department Management team. Where the post holder has been given full responsibility for hosting and managing an event, communication of service requirements and standards of operation to staff.
  • To assist the Catering Department Management team with planning, hosting and managing internal and external School events, functions and hospitality.
  • To complete recharge sheets in a timely and accurate manner following each event and ensure that the Catering Administrator is provided with this information.
  • To drive the catering van safely and deliver as necessary to all areas of the School. This may involve some heavy lifting.
  • To work in close liaison with the Catering Department Management team, to ensure that information and communication concerning events, functions and hospitality is passed on effectively.
  • To maintain inventories of event equipment to ensure that stocks are maintained and stores are kept tidy and ready for use. Inform the Catering Department Management team of replacements required.
  • To manage a system which records equipment loaned to areas of the school and to ensure equipment is either returned or charged to the correct area.
  • To keep up to date with current trends and styles of events and hospitality in other similar service providers. 

Educational & Experience Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Hotel & Restaurant Management or any hospitality courses.
  • Essential o Basic food hygiene certification or other equivalent qualification.
  • Basic health and safety certification or other equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience.
  • Can work under pressure.
