It is an honor to announce that Fran Hubbard has been selected as the recipient of our "2019 Housekeeping HERO Award" for the COMFORT INN & SUITES in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In April of 2018, Francis Hubbard (Ms. Fran) was working in our Laundry Department when she found a diamond ring wrapped in the linens. She immediately turned it to Lost & Found. After 30 days, since no one claimed it, we gave it to her.
Then in June, a return guest named Shirley Garrett heard Tabitha Arthurs at the Front Desk speaking about a pair of sunglasses in Lost & Found. She knew it was a longshot, but asked if we found the ring? Shirley had lost it the last time they'd visited and it was a family heirloom.
After reviewing records, Brian Knopp, General Manager of the COMFORT INN & SUITES spoke with Ms. Fran and let her know that they had found the owners of the missing ring. Ms. Fran immediately wanted to give it back.
We had a brief presentation in the lobby of the COMFORT INN & SUITES where Ms. Fran personally returned the ring to Steve & Shirley Garrett. And in remarkable fashion, Mr. & Mrs. Garrett presented Ms. Fran with a diamond ring of her own to show their appreciation.
Ms. Fran asked if we could use this special moment to inspire others. We were able to put together a video which has been posted on our www.comfortiscaring.com website and we have shared this wonderful, heart-warming story through social media. This inspiring story was also featured on three local television stations and reccognized by Choice Hotels International.
For the past three years, our hotel has been recognized with the "Platinum Award" and is currently ranked as the #1 Hotel in Lynchburg by TripAdvisor (out of 25 area hotels). We attribute our success to outstanding team members such as Fran Hubbard and would like to congratulate her on this outstanding achievement. CONGRATULATIONS MS. FRAN!

“The staff are exceptionally friendly and are very responsive to making your stay as best as it can be. In particular, Fran from the laundry department gives a special greeting every morning to all guests when she arrives for work. David at the front desk was very helpful for making room changes. Brian, the manager was also very helpful with making sure that breakfast went smoothly despite the hotel being at capacity. The remainder of the hotel has very good amenities and comfortable rooms.”
