The house where Studio Llots lives
What makes a house grand it ain't the roof or the doors.
If there's love in a house, it's a palace for sure.
I want to start this article with a quote from Tom Wait's "House where nobody lives. "When talking about office space, a restaurant, your home, or most other facilities, we point out the benefits and beauty of the location or interior design. Though, we should never forget these things are essential but merely beneficial to something that is given its character in entirety by people. What we do and what we are fills a room with creativity, passion, and love. Today I want to speak about ways that we as Studio Llots wish to use our new office spaces to fill those rooms with life.
Making room for people
Creative office design should always cater to the needs of creative people. Therefore, Studio Llots focuses on a sustainable and future-oriented development process. From the first drafts to the final plant arrangements, everything should be user-oriented, developed from the subject to the surroundings.
I always point out how deeply the sustainable approach is anchored in the Studio Llots universe, mostly connected to manufacturing processes or production chains. With our new office, we want to take the chance to implement long-lasting projects focussing on the community. For us, that is another factor of sustainability. With the start of our EHWDA initiative during the first weeks of the corona crisis, we created the base for community-related work, and now we want to keep riding that wave.
Community is our jam
With our new spaces, we aim to bring further initiatives to live. We are currently working on concepts that revolve around the fight against old-age poverty by offering our rooms and time to older people in need. We want to enable the elderly to be a part of a community and a market. We believe that sustainability does not know any age structures. It is not only about the young to change the course of our future but to keep the silver agers within their community and help them to be a part of this change. It's about people of any age understanding that building and creating long-lasting things is worth the effort.
Farming and harvesting
One of the most simple tasks on the road to a sustainable lifestyle is where many people don't see the possible outcome of the little action their changes take: the change of diet and food waste prevention. To strengthen our bonds to sustainability and community, we want to invest in urban gardening projects at our own space and locations nearby. We want to farm and harvest food on our own, creating a sense for community and teach people to pay respect to mother earth.
These are only two examples of the work we want to do aside interior architecture. We are always open for community-related projects and encourage you to pitch an idea that you think is worth going forward with.
