Bob McDonell and his wife, Maricela, have created a sanctuary that guarantees love, security, health, education, and professional training opportunities so that children and adolescents without families or resources can achieve their purpose in life and become valuable members of society.

Bob accepted his calling after a trip to El Salvador in 1982 to meet Maricela’s family. There, he witnessed the devastation the war had on the street children begging for newspapers. Those papers would be used as blankets when the children slept on the street at night. After such a gut-wrenching impact on Bob, Mi Casa opened its doors in 1989. Bob and his beautiful wife have been changing the lives of these vulnerable children since.

Mi Casa has separate houses next to each other, one for girls and the other for boys. These homes create loving, supportive family atmospheres that allow each child to flourish and live a life of love and security. House of Life - a shelter where pregnant teenagers and teenage moms can find renewed hope while being taken care of as they bond with their babies in a safe home environment. Baby Wings Program - a nurturing home for the healthy development of babies in the earliest stages. Every baby and child have the care, love, and support that enables them to not only heal from their trauma but live healthy, happy lives.
