House divided
Affirming their value invites them to affirm yours.

House divided

Both sides need love

When was the last time someone outside of your political party thanked you for your contributions? Well, let me thank you now.

Thank you, all liberals, for your valuable contributions.

Thank you, all conservatives, for your valuable contributions.

Each statement of gratitude includes a succinct critique. Then moves on to invite mutual respect—to replace any mutual or one-sided hostilities. Before wrapping up on a positive note.

Follow the bar below in each video, as it passes from green to yellow and back to green again. It’s like the praise sandwich. It sandwiches negative news between two positives.

1. V+ for value positive

Just like you see in a late payment notice. You value the relationship more than the thing of value at issue.

2. V– for value negative

But that thing at issue must be addressed to keep the relationship a working relationship. An unresolved need.

3. V+ for value parity

Trust each side to contribute their part. Then this working relationship can go on.

CTA – a nonpartisan call to action

This final part, of parity, invites mutual resolution to politicized needs. It opens a path for creating mutual value.

Sure, political differences seem like obstacles now. But unpacked obstacles can be recast as challenges turned into opportunities.

Please allow me to take this opportunity now to both affirm and critique the political messages of our top political leaders. I believe by covering both the positive and negative in messaging can we fully resolve our politicized needs.

Praising and critique political messages

Each tweet response first subtly or directly affirms the messenger’s message—instead of provoking defensiveness by jumping immediately into disagreement. Then critique follows this affirmation, to raise awareness of overlooked affected needs.

The parity is implied with the CTA hashtag #HarmonyPolitics. You see, it’s less about whether I (or anyone) agrees with a message and more about addressing the needs affecting us all.

1. Elizabeth Warren

Then let us go further to allow degree earners like me to actually use this expensive education. By correcting the historical injustice of wrongful convictions targeting minorities without evidence. #HarmonyPolitics

2. Joe Biden

Yes, we are the USA. But I see the real battle not between Left and Right but between the destructive forces of #DivisivePolitics hate and empowering vision of #HarmonyPolitics love.

3. Bernie Sanders

Finally acknowledging Pence could be our next prez if impeachment goes quickly. I personally don’t seek to defeat Trump as much as the #DivisivePolitics that put him there. #HarmonyPolitics.

5. Kamala Harris

Loved the Cesar Chavez quote. I’m already stepping up to demand we all respect each other’s needs. Stepping beyond #DivisivePolitics with #HarmonyPolitics.

Reviewing hot button issues

Consider the poz-neg-parity principled format for each of these politicized issues.

1. Immigration: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

2. Climate change: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

3. Gun safety: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

4. Abortion: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

5. Healthcare: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

6. Criminal justice: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

7. Economy: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

8. Racism: harmonized to need; diversity of positions; unpacking both sides.

HARMONY POLITICS AND YOU

Consider how Harmony Politics could serve your needs. I offer to consult political leaders and influencers to better connect with their constituent’s diverse needs.

Can HP improve voter turnout? Improve messaging? Attract donors? Sway uncommitted independent voters? Help with GOTV efforts? Fit into media strategies? Support oppo research? Polling efforts?

Contact me to explore how I can fit this pioneering approach to your particular need to politically stand out more.

I am strictly nonpartisan, and offer my services to candidates of any party. Once I contract with you, I cease making myself available to other candidates in that same race.

I cover much of this material in more detail in my eCourse Defusing Polarization: Understanding Divisive Politics. Check out the free units to see if it serves your needs. Share this link with others you know in need of this fresh understanding of politics.

If you find this article valuable, click “like” and share freely. Add your comments below. Follow here on LinkedIn to keep up with these daily messages for transcending political polarization. Spread the love of affirming each other’s politicized needs.

Together, let’s revolutionize politics with such love. If we don’t, who will?
