In the realm of construction and real estate, the phrase "House of Cards" often evokes images of fragility. This metaphorical house, much like its namesake in the iconic American TV series "House of Cards" represents how things should not be done. But what happens when we shift our focus to something more enduring, something built on a foundation of lasting values?
This reflection led me to contemplate the concept of a "House of Values" and its significance in my professional journey within the real estate and offsite construction industry during last 15 years at Bp Home Investment and InstaBuilt . For us, it has never been solely about constructing walls and roofs to create mere "shelters." Our mission delves much deeper, embarking on a meaningful quest to redefine the essence of home and community. This quest is embodied in the "House of Values" or at least a visual representation of such philosophy.
Great Investment: The pursuit of outstanding Return on Investment (ROI) is a given for any investor. However, achieving this shouldn't come at the expense of the environment, integrity, or health. True, enduring investments enrich lives beyond financial gain, echoing the values we cherish as humans. This philosophy ensures that our profits are not just monetary but also contribute to a greater good – a chain reaction of positive impacts satisfying all stakeholders involved.
Environment: Each decision in our industry carries immense responsibility towards our planet. This responsibility reminds me of a lesson from my grandfather and my father: “What you sow, you shall reap.” Our actions in the next decade will significantly influence the fate of humanity. In contrast to traditional brick and concrete constructions which often have a heavier environmental footprint, we should utilize more sustainable materials like timber to reduce our ecological impact.
Great Design: No matter how great, energy efficient and sustainable the house is, if it does not meet the needs of a people that will live in it, it will not exist. Therefore, a home should be more than a structure; it embodies the spirit of family. It must blend aesthetics with functionality, creating spaces that are not only livable but lovable. A well-designed home brings joy and pride, reflecting and enhancing the community as part of it.

Quality: Defining quality can be elusive, but it's the cornerstone of everything we aim to achieve. Quality is the sum of many parts – durability, comfort, security, safety, aesthetics and many others. It's the result of a meticulous process, from understanding client needs to employing the right construction system, right sourcing (with sustainability and eco in mind) and precise quality management system. ?
Mobility: The dynamism of modern life demands flexibility, something traditional homes often lack. For example, at InstaBuilt we're redefining this paradigm with our panelized and modular systems. So that homes designed for permanent living unlike "mobile homes", unlike traditional homes with conventional structures, these houses can be disassembled and moved with minimal environmental impact.
Speed: The adage "Time is more than money" rings especially true in our fast-paced world. So, new innovative construction methods in offsite constructed factories are designed to maximize efficiency, drastically reducing build times compared to traditional methods. This efficiency translates into more money for investors (faster ROI) and more life (faster delivery) – more time for families to create memories in their new homes.
Sustainability: Although this relates to Environment as a foundational concept, here we look at it in more practical terms for eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency, and renewable sources from the house's perspective, while Environment as foundation reflects how whole communities are build to promote health, happiness, and environmental harmony. These sustainable communities offer a quality of life that traditional, less eco-conscious neighborhoods struggle to match.
Quality of Life: At the heart of it all is the quality of life. It's the roof over our heads, shielding us from life's storms. Without it, the structure of our lives – our family's soul – is vulnerable. In our homes, we don't just build walls; we nurture the spirit of living, creating spaces where happiness and well-being flourish.
As we stand at this intersection of traditional and modern construction methods, our choice is clear. We choose to build a "House of Values," where each part, each beam, is part of a larger, more meaningful picture – a legacy of sustainable, joyful living for generations to come.
