House barely passes budget. What's in it for me?

Welcome to The Money, where we break down financial news and provide the TL;DR version of how decisions by the Federal Reserve, government and companies impact you.

The GOP plan was passed by a vote of 217-215, after House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., had to convince several Republican holdouts including Reps. Victoria Spartz of Indiana, Tim Burchett of Tennessee and Warren Davidson of Ohio to come on board with the proposal.

The House's plan would set up a massive reconciliation bill that would extend Trump's 2017 tax cuts and implement new ones at a cost of $4.5 trillion over the next decade. But we don't know yet about no tax on tips or other promises made to everyday Americans.

See what else is in the budget here.

What Trump's 25% tariff on European goods means for me

Hermes? Louis Vuitton? If luxury goods are your jam, you may soon be paying more for them because of President Donald Trump's 25% tariff on goods from the European Union.

See what else may get an inflated price.

More store closures are coming. How will shopping change?

Consumers are going to have fewer places to shop as in-person retail stores continue to close, but it remains to be seen whether shoppers will have less choice or have to pay more.

Joann earlier this week became the latest retailer to announce that it will shutter all of its stores as it was auctioned under new ownership. The retailer will close 800 stores nationwide.

That comes on top of other retailers announcing specific location closures, such as JCPenney, Macy's, Big Lots, Kohl's and Advanced Auto Parts.

Consumers in the short run will not have the same amount of choice as stores close. But in the long-term, it will be up to competitors to decide what type of offerings they want to pick up from stores that have gone out of business.

Only a no-vax tyrant can trample on the precautionary principle, causing damage to the health of citizens with more oil, deportations, import duties, mercantilism, protectionism, more money for the rich with a relative increase in poverty, nuclear energy, failure to comply with the rules, failure to comply with international agreements, etc. etc. Enough! with these American billionaire bullies.
