Hotel’s Revenue Centers

Although hotels greatest revenues are through guestroom sales, however it should not solely focus on room revenue alone and disregard the remaining potential profit centers within.

Successful hotel is the one that paying attention and maximize the potential revenue on its additional services and activities that may support or boost overall profitability.

These revenue centers will assist hotels in achieving its overall financial target and in some cases might perform better than expected, this factors are unique from one hotel to another due to its hotel variable circumstances (such as type of hotel, locations, attractions and etc.)

In addition to the rooms division, hotel revenue centers may include:

1.???????Dining rooms, snack bars, and specialty restaurants

2.??????Bars, lounges, and nightclubs

3.??????Room service operations

4.??????Business centers

5.??????Dry cleaning/Laundry

6.??????Vending machines

7.??????Gift shops, barbershops, and newsstands

8.??????Banquet, meeting, and catering facilities

9.??????Local and long-distance telephone service

10.???Health clubs, golf courses, and exercise rooms

11.????Car rentals, limousine services, and tours

12.????Casinos (if applicable) and gaming activities

Guests frequently learn about these services and facilities through the hotel’s website, printed directory, or advertising on the guestroom television.

Front desk agents and uniformed staff members must also be familiar with these facilities and services so they can answer guest questions in a positive and knowledgeable manner.

The transactions charged to room accounts by guests at hotel revenue centers must be communicated to the front desk in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment and avoid late charges.
