A Lack of confidence as a Hotel Manager relates from a fear of not being safe or secure in the Hotel; When might I sleep? What might I eat? How might I find time for water? More Importantly - Is there a predator around the corner within the Hotel?
These Problems might still be apparent for many Hotel Managers during every busy Hotel Shift; but there are now also new questions that I may have to ask myself continuously?
I have a place to sleep but do I get enough of it because I am so busy? I have plenty of food and drink, but I am unhealthy because I need to find some time to put some of it in my mouth? And how do I deal will all these predators I see all around my Hotel throughout my shifts which keep on getting in my way?
But what is Confidence for a Hotel Manager today? Maybe just doing what you believe is right or what matters most to you even if others do not appreciate it? Taking risks? Maybe admitting mistakes and being humble enough to learn from them so they are not repeated?
Simply in your Hotel Shift it is your ability to be patient and resilient enough to master skills and achieve your goals? Surely, it is your ability to believe you can handle all that your shift provides for you, cope, fall-down, and get back up for more?
For Hotel Managers - Confidence is often a perception, as it typically involves facing a fear and doing it anyway. I would even argue that Confidence is based in bravery.
If you are a Hotel Manager without Confidence – Get Some. The most Confident Hoteliers in the world simply have a few things in common:
They are expressive: They have an opinion and are not afraid to share it while still respecting the opinions of others.
They are in control: They know how to adapt to situations, moods, and various personalities within their Hotel.
They are sensitive: They appreciate and understand others, always considering and anticipating the reactions of others.
They are Genuine: They always display Honesty, Sincerity and Humility. They are always Genuine.
They are resilient: They have the ability to adapt to any situation in the Hotel. Failures do not define them, they educate them.
They are prepared: They anticipate the best but are prepared for the worst. They are Optimistic.
They take risks: As often as possible, all which provide valuable insight for personal growth. They know their own strengths.
The Hoteliers, Hotel Supervisors and Hotel Managers you consider the most confident, probably were not born Confident; Confidence is a skill that is acquired and takes time to practice.
Spend more time with the Confident Hoteliers, Hotel Supervisors and Hotel Managers: Confidence is Contagious and if you want more of it spend time with those whom you think have it.
