Secretary of State Hughs hosts the Texas Businesses Against Trafficking Partnership Forum

AHLA co-sponsored the Texas Businesses Against Trafficking (TBAT) Partnership Forum at the State Capitol, hosted today the Secretary of State Ruth R. Hughs’ Office. As we continue our important work with the No Room for Trafficking campaign, we are proud to forge new partnerships and relationships with those within the private and public sector. Today’s event was the perfect example of that synergy.

AHLA SVP of Government Affairs and Industry Relations Troy Flanagan highlights the No Room for Trafficking campaign

In holding these events around the country, we are not only training and educating, but we are also humanizing a crime that affects 40 million people globally. Recently, I was moved by a story about a hotel employee who, as a result of their training, spotted two minors in what appeared to be a suspicious situation. That employee quickly reported the activity to their general manager who then immediately coordinated with local law enforcement. This quick reaction rescued two minors from the hands of human traffickers.

We will never stop fighting human trafficking and we are grateful for the support in Texas from the Secretary of State’s Office, Sabre Corporation, The Asian American Hotel Owners Association, Texas Hotel & Lodging Association and AHLA member company G6 Hospitality.

Rob is the “GOAT” well TB2 as well.
