Intelligence. Integrity. Innovation.
Where it started: Inspired by Frank P. Saladis, a prominent project management expert, in 2004 International Project Management Day was created to honor the valuable contributions of project managers worldwide. This initiative was then brought to the global stage by IIL, influenced by Dr. Harold Kerzner’s insights.
Where we are now: This year’s event will honor 20 years of project management excellence by bringing together thousands of professionals from around the globe on Nov. 7, 2024, to engage with the very best thought leaders and speakers and will be available to stream through Feb. 10, 2025.
Why it’s important: Over the past two decades, we have witnessed groundbreaking advancements in processes, technologies, tools, and communication. We have evolved into more adaptable, collaborative, and strategic professionals, always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Join us as we celebrate this milestone and look ahead to the future of project management.
What’s next for project management? The future is bright, and IPM Day 2024 is your front-row seat. Join us for a live day of inspiration, innovation, and a whole lot of fun.
The future of Risk Management – Will AI do All the Work for Us?
“Expect the worst, prepare for the best” Probably you already know this phrase, but written the other way around. However, when it comes to AI impacting our work, we tend to expect the worst. Let’s explore the future of risk management in the age of AI.
Risk management, a field traditionally rooted in human judgment, expertise, and data analysis, is undergoing a profound transformation.
Artificial intelligence is emerging as a transformative force. It has already begun to revolutionize risk management by automating routine tasks, analyzing vast amounts of data, and identifying patterns that humans might miss.?Machine learning algorithms can process and interpret data at unprecedented speeds, providing insights that help organizations anticipate and mitigate risks more effectively. But will AI truly be able to handle all the complexities of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation?
What is a Good Estimate?
By Ko Ito
In this article, I would like to consider what a good estimate is using the following three scenarios as examples.
Which do you think is the best estimate? It depends on the work being done, but this time let’s assume intellectual work like software development rather than labor work to make it easier to think. Let’s examine each one together.
